The act of growing or losing teeth is seen to children as a building block to growing up, which in most cases can often be exciting! Our patient today, Frank, was extremely eager to show both the hygienist, Brandy, and also Dr. Coloma. With this being said, parents, you should match your child's excitement for the development of their new teeth.
Halloween, a known holiday for children to binge themselves with candy and other sticky treats. Candy is fun and delicious but be aware of the effects sugar has on the teeth of our young patients. As many dentists say “you can eat chocolate but stay away from sticky candy such as, jolly ranchers, laffy taffy, starbursts, etc.” Avoiding these treats often prevent cavities from forming.
